Hello Kirti,

See choosing or deciding on the stream for you would be very difficult for me as I have no idea of your interests and aptitudes. Commerce is a very vast stream and there are lots of courses that are there for you like you can do BBA, BBM, BAF or B.Com. or CA or CS etc…..
As far as CA being tough is concerned then you I would like to tell you that you will find everything tough if you are not interested in it.

So first try and find your area of interest and then decide as to what you want to do.

Best Wishes!

Hello Kirti,

If you like maths so much then you can do Mathematics (Hons) in your graduation. But still you will have to study other subjects till your 12th standard. So with that you can either choose Science or Commerce Stream whatever you like.

Best of Luck!

Hello,

If you are really passionate about Maths, then you have lots of career options with that. You can do you graduation in maths i.e. a maths (hons) from any good university. Then you can also do masters in maths also. There are certain other branches of maths that you can study like Statistics or applied maths, which are also good options.
Various IIT’s and BITS Pilani are best institutes offering courses in maths.

bt my parents want dat i should do IIT...being d only daughter of my parents i wanna fulfill their dreams...
is it not possible 2 do IIT if i m not so good at phy. or che.?????

Hey Kirti,

It is definitely worth appreciating that you want to fulfill your parent’s dreams. But I would like to tell you that if you are really poor in chemistry and physics then it would be a little difficult for you to become an engineer. You can do away with chemistry but physics is the backbone of all engineering fields. But I am definitely sure that you will be able to cope with it.

Keep in mind that if you have determination to achieve something then nothing is impossible.

Best of Luck!

Hi Kirti,

You can go about taking up science. I would like to tell you nothing is tough if you have thought of doing it. If you have decided to take up science then I would say just go for it and you will be able to do it. Yojust need a passion to do it.
You would be surprised to know that Einstein was told by his teachers that he is useless and cannot study further and hence was thrown from his school and today see one cannot separate Einstein and Physics. Even though you are not good in Physics but you will be able to master it with little bit of practice.
So just have confidence in yourself and your abilities and I am sure you will be able to do whatever you want to.

Best Wishes!

Your parents are correct, you should focus on your tenth first and try and master it. The 11th maths can be done when you reach 11th.

bt mam.

if today i go for any competetive exams they mainly ask questns from class 11th...
so i m practising it..and its very important for me to do well in these exams..
thats why i often practice class 11th maths but at the same time i also fcus on my class 1oth syllabus.....
Answered On:- 11/1/2011 3:45:32 PM
it is perfectly fine then. If you feel that you require 11th class maths for competitive exams then you can practice it as well. But the main focus should always be your 10th.

Good Luck!

have i done something wrong??
would i have preffered schoool based examinationn???????
Answered On:- 11/1/2011 9:23:06 PM
Kriti, you have done nothing wrong moreover made a good decision , as if after 10th std , if you want to change board(to move on for a state board school/any other board except cbse) board examination will be helpful to you!
Moreover , you would not face any problem in getting partial marks from any of the school teachers!
I appreciate your decision !
Feel free to ask any question!
