Take up Maths and physics at + 2 level. After that you can do graduation in Maths and Physics. At M.SC level level you can further study Physics, space science, astronomy of astrophysics. After that you can do PHD. Even a B. TECH in Electrical / Electronics/ Electrical Communications can go in this field by pursuing PHD. For doing Ph.D, which is mandatory to do research, one should appear for the Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) examination.To pursue a career in theoretical astronomy, one can pursue a Bachelor’s in Science in physics and/or mathematics, while in order to pursue a career in experimental astronomy, one can pursue a Bachelor’s in Engineering in electrical/electronics/electrical communi-cation, after ten plus two.Student with a postgraduate degree in physics or Master’s in Technology in engineering or a Bachelor’s in Engineering, are eligible to appear for JEST.
