Linto, as mechanical engineer you have option of going in Research and Development (R&D),Design,Production,Analysis and testing,Installation,Maintenance. As you are interested in design part of Mechanical engineering. You can go in any field of your choice. At the time of placement you will have companies from oil and gas, steel, aviation, power, automobile, chemical almost all type of private companies. Take the profile where you are interested. At the time of job interview do ask your job profile to employer so that after joining you are doing thing in which you have interest. For public companies you need to go through job advertisement at the time of your job search. Get a private job first as recruitment in public job take time. If you are interested in further study then M.TECH will be good option. M.TECH will give you chance to specialize in your area of interest. Designing is also one option for you.As you are fresher so work on your theoretical understanding of your subject. That will be emphasized at the time of interview. Feel free to ask further question
