Hi Madhu,

You should consider getting into Mass Communications and Journalism. I bilieve you are not that interested for reporting stuff and intend to concentrate more on articles...sort of creative writing around issues...adventures...travel trips ...cultures..et al ...is it ??..(I don't really understand much when you refer " standard writing " .)

The course as mentioned above, would let you decide which path to chose:

- Radio
- Video . . achoring, reporting for news channel
- Print Media...this is where you might get interested...and this may not necessarily refer towards journalism and reporting ..but your options to work as an editor..copyright...at bench..

I'm a little lost advising you on this as I'm still tryin to brain storm what could a " standard writing" mean ?.. However, you still need to learn the nuisances getting yourself a degree/PG diploma for Mass Comm/Jour. to be able to start your career as a junior editor and then decide to move ahead with your specific goals of writing. (Trust me .. you may not get enough say when startin your career and may need to go for basic journalism for magazines and news papers..)

In case if you interested in writing books ..biographies etc.. you may enrol yourself for an online diploma course. I can let you know the details of the courses available online and thro' distance learning mode in India, if you find it interesting.

Wish you da best.

Cheers...Amay//

Hey All,

I believe choosing a Masters over PG Diploma may not always prove to be a wise decision..n it all depends on the reputation of the institute. So as to say, IIM's still impart PG Diploma in Management and NOT Masters...and they are above the standards set by other Master's program by university/accredited colleges.

There are lot of institutes providing PG Diploma in Mass Comm & Journalism...Here's a small list of those I knw about ..and they are considered the best insts for india...
