The career course of Company Secretary is not only prestigious but is financially rewarding too. A company secretary acts as the mediator between the company and its Board of Directors, government, shareholders and regulatory authorities.

A candidate needs to clear 3 stages to qualify as Company Secretary and these are:
Foundation Course
Intermediate Course
Final Course
For Foundation course you need to be 10+2 in any stream.The course is of 8 months.
For Intermediate courses you need to clear Foundation. If you are a graduate you can directly apply forIntermediate course,duration 9 months.

For final course you need to clear Intermediate course.
One passing the Final examination of ICSI you will need to undergo a practical training after which, you will be completely eligible for the Associate Membership of the Institute.
You need to have some personal attributes, dedicated and skilled in writing and speaking good English. Intellectual, Loyal, sophisticated and meticulous individuals become successful company secretary.

Hi Sravya,
Its not the question of your articles getting affected. Please make up your mind whether you want to be a CS or CA at first? I think you need to concentrate on one course at a time. Articleship alongwith studying for CS might be hectic at times, but I think you should be able to manage. Finishing your articles is also important which would help you in completing your CA as well in the future course of time. Good luck! Feel free to shoot more questions.
