Hi Sudha this is your personal choice, If you want to remain in and work in chemical engineering field then do M.tech else if you want to change your career path then go ahead with MBA. Let know if you want to discuss soemthing further !

It is definitely your personal preference on what you would like to pursue after bachelor's in ChemE. In my opinion, getting an M.tech in chemical engineering would be worthless and wont give you any flexibility in your career. The pay would come to a halt at some point and you wont have enough options to go for.
If you opt for an MBA, you will have more options to pursue from and you can also stay in technical field if you wish since you already have one degree in ChemE. You can always climb the management ladder within your company if you wish when you have additional degree in management field. Just keep in mind that an MBA would have more credibility if you have few years worth of experience working as a ChemE before you plan to go for another degree (MBA in this case).
I am a B.S in ChemE as well and working as a professional right now. I have about 2 years of experience so far and plan to go for my MBA sometime next year.

This may be the turning point for your carrier. As having a MBA degree in HR, Marketing, Production and Project Management will lead you toward a managerial position in same field. However if you wish to join Pure research, Pilot plant studies or Process Development you should go for M.Tech degree from a reputed institute.
