The white tiger extinction, the illegal hunting, increasing trend of urbanization, and the lost land of forest to industrialization have raised eyebrows; and of late we are recognizing the importance to preserve our ecological system and our major natural resources forests by conserving our biological diversity through establishment and management of national parks and sanctuary. Wildlife is an integral part of every forest thus wildlife and forestry go hand in hand. 

A career in forest and wild life brings the responsibility of preservation and utilization of its resources. As forestry expert, you would have to work in laboratories, outdoors or even in offices depending on their areas of specialization. How do I pursue this career ??

» The minimum eligibility required is 10+2 with science stream i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

» After a bachelor's degree write Indian Forest Examination which is on pattern based on civil services.

» A career with IFS can be made even after a degree in any of the subjects Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology.
