What is Healthcare ?
Healthcare is the treatment and Management of illness of the elderly, and the preservation of health through services offer by the Medical, dental, complementary and alternative medicine, Pharmaceutical, clinical sciences, nursing, and allied health professions. Healthcare embraces all the goods and services designed to promote health, including preventive, curative and palliative interventions, whether direct to individual or to populations.
The growth potential for Healthcare is tremendous and infinite. Healthcare can be termed as a Recession- proof sector without doubt. As per the CII- Mckinsey Industry Analysis Report, the demand is expected to outstrip supply over the next decade in the healthcare sector. In a country of more than a billion people, almost 80,000 additional hospital beds will be required every year for the next three to four years to adequately meet growing healthcare demands.
The government, traditionally the largest healthcare provider, is now under pressure to meet evolving the rising demands for healthcare services across the country. The healthcare industry’s size is currently estimated at USD 20 billion and can increase to USD 60 billion by 2010.
