Yes, it is compulsory to fill AIEEE form to get admission into any of NITs or to be eligible for taking admission in state university (some university consider AIEEE score). But dont be panic, you have two attempts left out for AIEEE. If you havent filled any of the form and now planning to drop out, then you can utilize the other two attempts. Other then AIEEE some state university release their own form like UPTU (Uttar Pradesh Technical University), IPU (Inderprashtha University Delhi), PTU (Punjab Technical University), RTU (Rajasthan Technical University) etc. Some of these university released their application form but you still have time to apply for. In first counselling, may be getting NIT will be difficult (if you dont have home state quota). Even in second counselling, you may get NIT but to find a desired course will be difficult. But other then that you can get following colleges : Assam University - Silcher, IAMR College of Engineering- Meerut, Jodhpur National University- Jodhpur. Or may be Birla Institute of Technology.

But if you have home state quota in AIEEE then check NIT in your state. Do a little research on that NIT and check their cutoff of last year and if your rank will be around last year cutoff then try for that NIT in online counselling....

Look your rank will be around 70,000. In that range any of NIT is not at all possible even in second counselling. But you can look for State level university. You can apply for KU (Kurukshetra University), Haryana. Its has a good placement and reputation compared to other state university in Haryana. Other then this you can look for colleges in Dehradun. Government college is not possible in this rank but you can go for private institution under these university.
Also i'll suggest you to give preference to course rather then any college....

A candidate can apply online only once for BITSAT-2012. However, if a candidate discovers any mistake in the form submitted by him, he can apply online second time and send a letter to admission office BITS,Pilani mentioning the earlier application number which will be cancelled. Steps to be followed if fee paid through Demand Draft

If you want to remit the fee by Demand Draft, get ready before filling application form.
Demand draft which should be drawn in favour of the Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi drawn in any National Bank payable at Delhi. Write your name, address, registration no(as given on confirmation page) and course opted on the back of the demand draft.
Logon to the AIEEE website, fill the application form, note down the registration number which would be generated by system that is required for making the payment of fee.
Fill the details of Demand Draft.
Take a printout of Confirmation Page and complete as per the instruction given above.
Take a printout of Confirmation Page and send to CBSE along with original Demand Draft (if fee paid by Demand Draft)...
