Dear Concern!

The minimum requirement of marks in CPT is 50% (in all subjects). As compared to other levels of CA, you need not to secure a minimum marks in each subject.

1) The CPT exam is for 200 marks with objective type questions having four options.

2) For CPT 100 marks are required in totality to pass.

3) If you give any wrong answer to any question, there will be a negative marking of -0.25 per wrong answer.

On clearing CPT but fails next level (IPCC):

1) You can continue giving the IPCC exams, as there is no restriction on number of attempts to clear IPCC.

2) You need not to pay registration fees again.

3) Only exam fees have to be paid.

4) IPCC exams are held twice every year (i.e. in May & November).

5) Ther are two groups in IPCC (Group -1 with 4 subjects & Group-2 with 3 subjects).

6) If you clear Group-1 then you become eligible for Articleship training.

7) One may need to register again for 2nd Level if ICAI changes the syllabus & brings in new scheme. In that case you have to convert you scheme to the new one. However, such change only come after 4-5 years.

Hope you have no doubts. Should you have any further query, pls be in touch with me.

Best Regards
CA Mayank Chopra

Hi Grusha,

You can apply for teacher posts and government jobs. In private sector job opportunities are very less. If you get a job in this, pay will not be good. After gaining some experience you will get good pay in this sector but an engineer would be preferred over this degree.

You might go for MSc, after doing MSc. you will get good opportunities compare to BSc. If you get a job now, try for MSc after gaining some experience.

Let me know for further assistance.

All the best
